The secret gift room will be open on Monday 11 December – £3.50 per child
Our gift room runs during the school day and is an opportunity for your child/ren to purchase a small gift for a loved one. A member of the PTA will wrap the gift and help them write a gift tag; then they will bring it home after school ready for Christmas day! The children really enjoy this activity and we always look forward to helping them make their choices and wrapping the gifts!
Can all money be bought into school on Monday 11 December in an envelope and handed to your child’s teacher.
The PTA are selling personalised Baubles until the end of term. They would make a beautiful gift for a loved one and are £3 each. If you would like a bauble please email the PTA firstname.lastname@example.org with the name you would like added and your details. Once made the bauble will be available for you to collect from school.
Blank baubles will go on sale outside the office with a PTA member or in the office with Mrs Boorman on Monday 13 November, 50p each (correct change would be appreciated). Please return the decorated baubles to the office so they can be displayed on our Christmas Tree by Monday 27 November. The competition winner will be chosen by Mrs McKay and will turn on the Christmas Tree Lights at our Christmas Fair on Friday 1 December. Thank you
All the children enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, following the theme ‘you are a reader’.
There was a variety of activities during the day, including a treasure hunt for book themed pebbles, live events by children’s authors as well as a draw along with a World Book Day illustrator. Our special day kicked off with assembly, where the children took part in a cat walk to share their amazing costumes.
At the end of the day, all the children took home a special book token to spend as well.
A huge thank you to our school community for the excellent
engagement and enjoyment the children have had celebrating World Book Day.
Pupils have enjoyed special Key Stage Assemblies looking at the
history of World Book Day and sharing their costumes and favourite books. There
has also been participation in online events led by famous children’s authors.
Our celebration concluded with a story telling relay, with teachers dashing
from class to class to pick up a great story where the last teacher left off.
Every child has received a book token to take home so that they can
purchase a book of their own.
We have all enjoyed thinking about how ‘you are a reader’ the theme for World Book Day this year.
We received a fantastic standard of entries to our poetry competition. This made judging really tricky! However, two winners were picked after much debate. Congratulations to Aliyah from Asteroids and Alexis from Satellites for their excellent entries which can be seen below.
Note: Both forms are Microsoft Word documents and so you may not be able to view or download from mobile devices.
