World Book Day – Thursday 2nd March 2023

All the children enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, following the theme ‘you are a reader’.

There was a variety of activities during the day, including a treasure hunt for book themed pebbles, live events by children’s authors as well as a draw along with a World Book Day illustrator. Our special day kicked off with assembly, where the children took part in a cat walk to share their amazing costumes.

At the end of the day, all the children took home a special book token to spend as well.

World Book Day

A huge thank you to our school community for the excellent engagement and enjoyment the children have had celebrating World Book Day.

Pupils have enjoyed special Key Stage Assemblies looking at the history of World Book Day and sharing their costumes and favourite books. There has also been participation in online events led by famous children’s authors. Our celebration concluded with a story telling relay, with teachers dashing from class to class to pick up a great story where the last teacher left off.

Every child has received a book token to take home so that they can purchase a book of their own.

We have all enjoyed thinking about how ‘you are a reader’ the theme for World Book Day this year.
